On the first day I drove up from Adelaide to Port Augusta, and then headed west on the Eyre Highway as far as Iron Knob, where I turned off the pavement and towards Gawler Ranges National Park. I spent that night at the Kolay Hut campground. The next day I continued west, returning to the highway at Wirrulla.
